The Valley

Points: 1500-2000

Fluff: Two opposing forces arrive on opposite sides of a valley. Each warlord establishes a command post on the high ground overlooking the valley and prepares to capture the enemy command post. 

Battlefield: 6×4

Reinforcements: Long

Setup: Warlord regiment gains the Command Post rule, see below.

Rounds: 10 turns or until win condition is met

Win Conditions: Play continues for 10 turns or until one player has been eliminated, conceded, or scored at least 10 victory points AND more points than the opponent.

Scoring: At the end of each turn, players score victory points for the following:

  • 1 VP for each secondary objective completed.
  • 1 VP for claiming the friendly objective zone.
  • 3 VP for eliminating the enemy Warlord.
  • 3 VP for claiming your opponent’s objective zone.

Special Rules:

Command Post: Regiments with this special rule are deployed before the start of the first turn. They must be placed such that at least one stand is in their friendly objective zone. This regiment is forbidden from taking “March” or “Reform” actions if doing so would result in the regiment having no stands on the objective zone. The regiment and any attached character may perform all other actions normally. This special rule is removed if the regiment successfully charges, is nominated as the target of a charge, or becomes broken. Units within the Command Post gain Barrage 1 (20″) if they do not already have Barrage to compensate for their immobility.
